| In 1968, Sayed Marei purchased the two year old colt, Kayed, at an EAO auction. "We were convinced that by his pedigree alone he was the best horse in the auction." Sayed noted, "As he matured, we really liked him. He was a tall horse, with a beautiful head, large eyes, and a nice topline. His dam was one of the best mares at the EAO. The more important thing about Kayed was that he sired typey horses no matter what mare we used." Kayed sired 55 foals for Albadeia, before his death to colic in 1982. |
